Idlewheel:
Idlewheel Acoustic, is an acoustic duo with Poco's Jack Sundrud and Craig Bickhardt . Craig and Jack have written over 100 songs together including the Billboard #1 Hit, "It Must Be Love." Since it will be Father's Day check out the "Father's Day" Video to the left. CRAIG BICKHARDT: Craig's songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, BB King, Ray Charles, Tony Rice, Alison Krauss, David Wilcox, Martina McBride, Charlie Louvin, Janis Ian, Jonathan Edwards, Jimmy MacCarthy and about 100 others, but his live performances are the key. His many film and TV credits include writing and performing two songs in the Academy Award winning Robert Duval film, Tender Mercies. Jack Sundrud is a respected Nashville songwriter and bassist/vocalist who recently marked over 29 years since he began touring and recording with venerable country rock band Poco. Sundrud moved to Nashville in 1981, where he quickly became bassist/vocalist for some of Music City's top touring acts: Vince Gill, Dickie Betts, Bobby Whitlock, Gail Davies, The O'Kanes, Nicolette Larson, Kathy Mattea, Poco and more. While touring with Michael Johnson's band, Jack's songs were brought to the attention of the Judd's producer, Brent Maher. This led to the formation of Great Plains (also featuring Russ Pahl, Denny Bixby and Michael Young) an edgy country-rock band fronted by Sundrud, who recorded for Columbia Records. The band's single release, “Faster Gun” became a top 25 radio hit in 1992. Before re-joining Poco on the road and in the studio in 2000, Jack co-wrote (with Michael Johnson) 4Runners breakout hit, “Cain's Blood” and Ty Herndon's #1, “It Must Be Love” (with Craig Bickhardt). Among the artists who have also recorded Sundrud's songs: Kenny Rogers, The Judds, Ricochet, The Persuasions, Michael Johnson and many more. 2014 saw Poco retire from regular touring. Occasional performances will still occur. The newest Poco studio album, "All Fired Up", was released in 2013, the band's first since 2002's “Running Horse”.
